Being a feature enhancement request, this is not applicable to any particular Thunderbird version.

But those are not files... it's one single mbox with lots of mail, so there is no file link to give. See bug 14988 and bug 77195. Also bug 37653 which might be a solution.

It seems that https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/thunderlink/ already implemented the idea, using message-ID. This is really great idea!

Not sure where to report this, but it has been driving me crazy for at least 3 months now and most of my contacts with Thunderbird have been ignored. As soon as I get the fix, I will set up a yearly donation to support Thunderbird.
None of the links work anymore in received email. The only way to open a link is to right-click on the link, copy and past it in my browser. I use Google Chrome, but have tried Edge & Firefox all with the same result.
PLEASE KEEP ME AS A FAITHFUL USER BY HELPING ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!
