User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060403 Red Hat/3.0.11-2.el5_3 Firefox/3.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060403 Red Hat/3.0.11-2.el5_3 Firefox/3.0.11 I downloaded firefox 3.5r2 for linux from http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5rc2&os=linux&lang=en-US When I run firefox from the expanded directory with ./firefox or ./firefox-bin, my "Help">"About Mozilla Firefox" panel has exactly the same information: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060403 Red Hat/3.0.11-2.el5_3 Firefox/3.0.11 as when I run the version I have in /usr/local/... So, how can I tell when I'm really running FF 3.5? Thanks, Ariel Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: See above. Actual Results: See above. Expected Results: I expected I would see that I am running v. 3.5

You'll need to shut down the old version of Firefox if you want to run the new version. (unless you pass some command line parameters, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Opening_a_new_instance_of_Firefox_with_another_profile if you want details)
