50210 - Unable to toggle green diamond on sub-thread of a thread

Linux (2000-08-24-08 M18)
Win32 (2000-08-24-06 M18)
Mac (2000-08-23-20 M18)
1. From IMAP or POP account
2. Unselect Thread from the column widget (farthest right)
3. Selected View->Threaded
4. Set View->Message off to close the Message pane
5. Expand a thread
6. Toggle the green diamond icon in the parent thread. It works OK
7. Then toggle the child thread,
Actual result: No response. Unable to toggle to READ or UNREAD
But when I do Mar->Message->As Read, it works

This occurs on all platforms, POP and IMAP.

fix checked in.  I broke this with another fix so I backed that one out. There 
were other problems associated with this bug:

1. You couldn't toggle the green diamond or flag icons on even levels of the 
thread (i.e., the first and 3rd levels worked, but 2nd and 4th didn't)

2. The twisty wouldn't open the entire thread.

3. If you double clicked on a message, for each level down in the thread you 
would get a message window. So if you were on level three you would get 3 
standalone windows.

All of these should be fixed.

All of the problems as mentioned by Scott P. are fixed on all these platforms in
both POP and IMAP accounts.
