I use the ' to navigate with the keyboard a lot, as i find it much more comfortable than other keyboard-navigation interfaces. Alas, when I'm on a very long page, when i start searching with ', the search goes back to the top of the page, whereas the link i want to go to is (presumably) on the screen, and i'd like to see it in order to type it. I know i could set the cursor to anchor the start of the search, but for this i'd need to use the mouse, thus defeating the whole purpose.

I think starting quick find of links at the top of the screen (and wrap) rather than the top of the page should be an option when the cursor is not set on the page, if not the default. Note that it's possible to emulate search from the top of page using search from the top of screen (just hit 'home' before you search), but not the converse.

Reproducible: Always
Severity: normal → S3
