While downloading some pictures from mail.com, Seamonkey 2.0a3 stopped working and became unusable. Eventually they system also locked up, had to reset Windows 2000 with the latest updates available.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
had to reset the system
Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey current v2.0b1pre?

POP3? IMAP?

> While downloading some pictures from mail.com,

How did you initiate the "downloading some pictures"? Double click at attachment pane? "Save As" at attachmnt pane?

> Seamonkey 2.0a3 stopped working and became unusable.

What phenomenon do you mean by "stopped working" and "became unusable"?

No response/feed back or sand-clock when a operation is done(such as right click of a folder at Tb, click of File men/Help menu at Tb)?

> Eventually they system also locked up, had to reset Windows 2000 with the latest updates available.

What phenomenon do you mean by "system also locked up"?
No feed back to mouse click/key typing or key pressing at any place(application, MS Win's desktop etc.)?
Killing of Tb by Win's Taks Manager can do nothing or is impossible?
(In addition to comment #1)

Can you reproduce your problem with Tb's -safe-mode?

Feel free to reopen with a comment supplying the requested information for a current build (as of this writing, SeaMonkey 2.0.11 or later, Thunderbird 3.1.7 or later).
