User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009073022 Firefox/3.0.13 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009073022 Firefox/3.5.2 Firefox was up 2 secs and then stopped. I tried everything from re-installing to deleting EVERY ref to mozilla and firefox on my machine with no diff. I stopped firewall, uninstalled AD-Aware, still nothing, and finally went back to FF 3.0.13 which is working. My desktop runs Win XP Pro 2002 SP2 and works fine with 3.5.2 My laptop runs Win XP Home 2002 SP3 and won't work with 3.5.2 only 3.0.13 ALL software on the 2 machine is the same except for antivirus, Avast on desktop, AVG on laptop. I tried looking at all the Win security stuff, but nothing seemed to be the cause. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 3.5.2 with XP Home SP3 2. 3. Actual Results: Firefox comes up for maybe 1 second and then disappears from task manager. No idea what stops it. I could not find a log with any ref either. System events shows nothing.
Summary: Firefox wouldn't stat after upgradse to 3.5.2 → Firefox wouldn't start after upgrade to ver 3.5.2 on Win XP Home SP3

Please try http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
I contacted AVG who set up a bug fix. I have gone through their detection process and uploaded files etc for them to analyze. I will add results or their findings when / if I gt them.. Rick H.
I just uninstalled AVG 8.5 - everything and then uninstalled ALL versions of FF including profile info. Lastly I re-installed FF 3.5.2 and exactly the same result occurred. FF starts for maybe 1-2 secs and then stops. I have no ADDONS etc. sao I am presuming it is back into Mozilla court as a problem.....

Reporter, please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). Also update your plugins (flash, adobe reader, java, quicktime, silverlight, etc.) Go to the developer's website and download the latest version from there. Installed 3.6.12 over 3.5.2 and it started up with my original profile. Stopped and started it several times and all seems fine. Many thanks. Its been a long wait. Rick H.
