The following documentation suggestion was sent to us recently.  Note that I'm setting this as a MDC bug instead of a www.mozilla.org bug since that page is due to be migrated to MDC.

“To protect users' private information, unprivileged scripts cannot invoke the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands in the Mozilla rich text editor, so the corresponding buttons on the Mozilla Rich Text Editing demo page will not work.”

And suggest to make some modification.

An alternative, is to use keyboard shortcut…  On windows Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V
