Loading the file directly plays the sound once. Pressing the play button to play the sound again causes the sound to play twice.

Maybe this is a bug with the underlying libraries, but I'm not sure what the best way to confirm that would be.

Hmm, it doesn't appear to play directly from bugzilla?

VLC plays the sound once each time.
Doh, works on trunk (was testing 1.9.1 nightlies, thought I'd checked trunk before filing).

Similar to bug 464066, but that was fixed by bug 469598 which was landed on 1.9.1.

Probably because bugzilla doesn't support HTTP byte-range requests.

This seems to WFM on current trunk on Windows, broken in 3.5 release though.
Seems to work now an Mac and Linux at least. I bet this was fixed by bug 520493.
