I noticed that bugbot--when it responds to a request for a bug--does not provide the nick. For example:

<tmyoung> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330506 [...Some more text...]
<bugbot> Bug 330506: [etc.]

While, with firebot, it provides the nick:

<tmyoung> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330506 [...Some more text...]
<firebot> tmyoung: Bug 330506: [etc.]

I find the latter annoying at times, but I don't know how other people use this feature. During Bugdays and events where bugs get mentioned a lot in a channel, this may be very useful.

Do we want to keep this feature? If we do, do we want to have it controlled by a variable on a channel-by-channel basis?
See the 'skipPrefixFor' variable in Bugzilla.bm.
Thank you, Reed.

I looked at that, and I got it to work for specific nicks, but is there a global option? I tried a wildcard, but I don't think it interprets those.
If it doesn't, it should...
I used the asterisk, question mark, and period and none of them worked. Is it a different wildcard?
you have to code in a wildcard.

Oh, well that would explain my problem. ;)

fwiw, i find the nick bit annoying because it triggers growl notifications for things about which i really have no interest. i'm usually listing bugs for *other* people's benefit, not my own. it isn't that i don't want to see the bots alive or the links they generate, it's that i don't want them to tickle my irc client.
