When a user has a blocklisted add-on they can click the "More Information" link in either the blocklist dialog or the entry in the Add-ons Manager to go to:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/blocklist/

Each add-on there has _very_ short cryptic blurb and a bug link. It would be better to have a more detailed explanation of the problem, especially in the case of security vulnerabilities. Throwing them into a potentially long winding and technical bug is not going to be helpful to many users. Additional information is also put on SUMO, however it's not directly accessible via this given UI path. (see also bug 523204)

The most straightforward solution would be to implement bug 508145 or similar and then link to a comprehensive incident page with a full user-level explanation of the problem, complete with additional information such as instructions on how to update to a usable version or anything else a user with the add-on would need to know.

Dave, is this possible in the client? Instead of having a global link, we could add a link per add-on if people want to view a specific message?

If it can't be linked to directly from the client, linking to an incident report instead of a bug report on the blocklist webpage would be good enough.
Not possible right now, we have bug 406026 on file which is similar

The new blocked addons page in comment 4 is much improved, but the old URL in comment 1 still links to the old page. Should I file a new bug or is it already on someone's todo list?

I'm pretty sure I saw a bug float by about redirecting moz.com to AMO. I think fligtar filed it.
Yep, found it -> bug 654614
