User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

When Mozilla upgraded to version 3, Firefox started crashing EVERY TIME we do a Google search -- either with Google on the top bar OR even going to the Google website. Both avenues will crash Mozilla. Even when Mozilla re-upgraded this version (a few minutes ago), it still happens. It's not a problem with Google because Google search works fine on the same computer with other browsers. It's only on Mozilla and after version 3 was installed. If I select "I'm Feeling Lucky" from the Google website, it does not crash Mozilla but that option does not give a list of results; it takes directly to one website, so it's not an effective tool.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Type anything on google search bar (either on the top bar OR at the Google website)
2.Press ENTER
3.Mozilla crashes every time
Actual Results:
Mozilla Firefox crashes. A Mozilla window opens requesting more information. I select to send a report to Mozilla. I try it again, it crashes again, a Mozilla window opens apologizing for still not being able to open the site.

Expected Results:
It should have brought up a list of possible websites as a result of the internet search.

There is nothing special or unusual. The only variable is that Mozilla upgraded to version 3 and it started crashing every time since then, since the upgrade before the last one (today Oct. 29, 2009). Will this problem be addressed by Mozilla and fixed on the next upgrade? Or is there a solution that we need to implement? Thank you for your help.

Here's my crash report.

http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/b62af969-f68c-402c-81b9-574d92091207

This problem started happening about 10 days ago. I use Firefox 3.5.5. I reinstalled it but did not make any difference. I uninstalled all extensions (the crash report says that I have MS .NET Framework Assistant but as far as I can see in the extension window, it has been uninstalled).

In my case, it does not matter what search page I go to, if I click on the search button with or without input data in the search box at google.com, yahoo.com or bing.com, Ffox 3.5.5 crashes right after I click on the "search/send" button. It is reproducible 100% every time I try the same thing.

I ran Super AntiSoyware program but it did not report any suspicious software. This problem has made the latest Firefox release pretty much useless for search.

User Comments	Typed "Firefox in Japan" at www.google.co.jp and clicked on Search button. Righ after that Firefox 3.5.x crashed. I can repro this same crash problem at the following search sites: www.yahoo.co.jp www.yahoo.com www.bing.com It does not seem to matter what I put into the search input field. Also it crashes on coming back to a search page. For example, 1. Go to maps.google.com and do some search. 2. Then using the "web" link at to left of the maps page, go t www.google.com -> crash!

timeless, I am not sure which bug it is but if my stack trace looks more like bug 524944, that would be fine with me. I have not had time to look deeply into this and so I searched Bugzilla for something similar and added my comments. I will comment on bug 524944 from here on.
thanks :). sadly w/o a stack from the reporter here, it's unfair for me to just mark this bug as a duplicate of that bug. and i'm glad you commented in *any* bug, as we really were looking for someone w/ that stack :)
