For the upcoming Thunderbird 3.0, we better test that the major upgrade path from 2.0.0.x will work. I am getting such an update from 2.0.0.23 => 3.0b4 ready for the releasetest/betatest update channel.

Worked for me with Linux/en-US/2.0.0.23, with 2 noticeable issues. - The details link is 404 (we need content, me thinks) - The partial update failed to verify, and the complete worked just fine It's odd, because the partial and the complete update are supposed to be the same (i.e. no real partial), needs investigating.

I got the exact same results with MacOS/en-US/2.0.0.23.

Turns out that Major Upgrade are not fully supported by patcher and need a little manual love. Figured it out and it should be working now.
