The testcase looks invalid to me, since I see no way that the image could get focus. Dan, could you examine this?

Well, a quick jump to IE on Mac (v. 5) shows that IE can focus on it. The tabindex works just fine there... On the other hand, that makes perfect sense. Why create an artificial focus for something that doesn't require it?
Slept on it. For the life of me, I can't see why this object should have focus. Hope this isn't too nearsighted, marking INVALID. Will also delete my testcase eventually;).

Dan: Could you also check this with some objects that can take focus, like a plugin with form controls for example? Whoever does plugin QA should be able to provide you with a good example.
