Should stop test virus.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Include definition of MRT at least.
2.
3.
Firefox is not an anti-virus. It does call Windows hooks if you have an anti-virus installed, but if it's not identifying a threat it's a problem with your a-v product.

Or I suppose we could be showing that label in error. If you manually scan the downloaded file with your a-v does it identify EICAR? If it does there might be a download-manager bug in calling the a-v hooks, otherwise I'm going to say it's not a Firefox bug at all.

I believe that Windows Defender does not recognize EICAR and several other test viruses (though we tested this almost 2 years ago). If you have not installed any anti virus, Windows Defender is the only "AV" that will run (though it is really anti-spyware/malware).
