More details? getfirebug.com is already on a cluster with php 5 : [root@pm-app-generic01 getfirebug.com]# php -v PHP 5.2.9 (cli) (built: Jun 23 2009 14:49:15) Copyright (c) 1997-2009 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2009 Zend Technologies with eAccelerator v0.9.5.2, Copyright (c) 2004-2006 eAccelerator, by eAccelerator Also, can you give us more specifics about the DB, what sort of traffic you expect so Dave can help me decide where to put it? Thanks!

Ah, great about the PHP - I wasn't sure what version was installed. Rob, do you have any idea on what kind of traffic the site gets? I'll have to investigate on what kind of load the Perch CMS puts on the database.

I think all we'll need is a blank mysql database and the credentials to log into it via the CMS. everything else should be in place, minus some possible directory settings. Last time I checked, I think getfirebug.com gets about 50k hits / month, give or take. It's not a huge traffic site.

So by when do you folks need this? IT usually handles all the credentials for the DBs directly, that is...you point out where we should fill up the config file (usually projects create a false config.dist file) and we put in the creds directly there.
