User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; hu; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; hu; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

When I open the above URL (either by clicking on a link or by pasting to the address field), Firefox crashes and dies without even popping up the Feedback Agent. Could reproduce in Safe Mode, too. No problem with any other PDF files so far, and this file can be viewed in Acrobat Reader without problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open http://lehetmas.hu/upload/10/10/200906/LMP_ujsag_II_1.pdf
2. Click in the window.

The download progress bar stays half way - I don't know whether it is still in the middle of download or if only the window contents aren't updated.
Actual Results:
Firefox crashes. No Feedback Agent.

Expected Results:
Firefox stays alive or, at least, FA pops up to submit an error report.

Though it seems to be reproducible with Safe Mode, here's the list of my add-ons:
AdBlock Plus 1.1.1
CS Lite 1.4
Custom Download Manager 2.6.20091103
Hide Menubar 1.0.20090929
Html Validator 0.8.5.8
IE Tab 1.5.20090525
Long URL Please 0.4.1
Stealther 1.0.7

Extensions:
Adobe Acrobat 9.1.0.163
IE Tab Plug-in 1.3.0.1
Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.150.3
Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U15 6.0.150.3
Mozilla Default Plug-in 1.0.0.15
QuickTime Plug-in 6.4 6.4.0.29
Shockwave Flash 10.0.32.18
I was able to download w/o a crash

Does the issue still occur if your start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

You also may want to update your Acrobat install to the latest version (9.2 as of writing)
> I was able to download w/o a crash

So did I. The crash occurs only if you click in the window while still downloading the PDF file.

> Does the issue still occur if your start Firefox in Safe Mode?

As I wrote in the original report, yes.

It happens with 9.2, too. (Adobe Updater hadn't told me there was a newer version.)
I'm not getting the crash even if I click in the PDF window while it's loading. I am running Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2.

Can you provide a crash id and/or stacktrace? https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report
> Can you provide a crash id and/or stacktrace?

As I wrote in the original report, there is no TalkBack. "about:crash" shows nothing.
If I run firefox.exe from MS Visual Studio, the call stack of the crash is something like this:

*	msvcr80.dll!7343bd93()
 	msvcr80.dll!73438a18()
 	CoolType.dll!727d4853()
 	ntdll.dll!770cfa8a()
 	ntdll.dll!770e9bec()
 	msvcr80.dll!73432c3d()
 	AcroRd32.dll!641ecc91()
 	AcroRd32.dll!647d3127()
 	AcroRd32.dll!64719870()
 	AcroRd32.dll!64453b1d()
[...etc.]

The problem is definitely within Acrobat Reader but FF should somehow survive the exception or at least generate a proper crash dump.
reporter: please follow the instructions at:
https://developer.mozilla.org/En/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

there is a link to that at the bottom of the page listed in comment 3, but now you have a direct link.

as for firefox should survive, we are about to land code which will move plugins out of process, once that happens, yes firefox will survive plugin crashes.

wrt not getting a crash report, that probably depends on what the function at msvcr80.dll!7343bd93() is. There are certain things we can't really catch short of actually being a debugger (we actually *could* do that once we move plugins out of process, but that certainly isn't a planned work item afaik).

Summary: Crash when opening a given URL → Acrobat Reader causes firefox to quit when opening this pdf
Version: unspecified → 1.9.1 Branch
I have not been able to reproduce this; sometimes the bugs only trigger as a result of interaction between add-ons. Does this happen if you disable all the add-ons except Adobe Reader?
