When signing up to an event on mozillians.org, the email message you get doesn't contain any data about the event but only 'Enter your default confirmation email message here'.

I got it during signing up for an event @ https://mozillians.stage.mozilla.com/node/244/signups
Also the email should come from a @mozillians.org address such as signups@mozillians.org instead of Jays email.
I have just found that the confirmation message is set by the creator of the event. I also believe the creators email is used as the "from address" of that confirmation email.

The confirmation message should default to something useful and I still think that a "official" email should be used to send signup confirmations.

Jay: this should go in your "best practices guide", to always change the confirmation email settings when creating a event. Im am dropping this from a blocker to critical.
Severity: blocker → critical
Summary: Signup confirmation Email containing no data → Add better default email message that contains data of the event
Tom: Completely agree. There is a lot dependent on what the creator of content provides, so will be sure to include this in the best practices guide.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to change the default "from" message, so will look to update that (and create necessary email alias) next week during the data cleanup.
