The current setup of alerts allows users only to check, that the calendar will alert on missed events, there's no way of setting the time span affected by this setting - for example events up to one week, up to month, up to 2 days ...

Ability to only turn missed event alerts on/off

Ability to set up affected timespan for activated missed-alerts

Sounds reasonable, not sure if we should make this a user visible pref though.
