When I try to use valgrind with automation.py, searchPath can find ~/valgrind/ (a directory) rather than /usr/local/bin/valgrind (an executable file). Then automation.py tries to execute a directory, and I get a confusing error message about permissions. Requesting review from jgriffin because he added this code (in bug 521457).
