After installing TB 3.0 the master password for the software security device was not recognised.  Attempts to change or remove the password resulted in message "You did not enter the correct current Master Password. Please try again."

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install TB 3.0 replacing TB 2.xx
2.Opening TB requests the master pasword
3.The master password is not accepted no matter howmany times it is entered
Actual Results:  
loops asking for password until the popup box is cancelled.

Terry did you have a master password in 2.x ?
Can you try reseting you master password (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password ) ?
Yes I had a master password and it worked just fine. I had never had an issue with it. I have now cleared my master password using "chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul"

Ive had the same issue with the last two releases of TBird. Just noticed that the Flock browser(Mozilla build)is giving identical errors.
Verified this with a 3rd party to be sure.
Strange thing is, it lets me view email(new messages also) regardless. I was able to check three accounts without entering a single password?? Thats it with thunderbird for me, theres no way that should be possible.
I could also view, receive and send messages once I canceled the pop-up requesting the master password. I did have to enter my ISP password to send and receive tho'
