User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100106 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100106 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.7

Problem was initially encountered here: http://www.nickstakenburg.com/projects/lightview/
But the actual direct link itself simply freezes Firefox with a "Waiting for movies.apple.com" message. The browser has to be killed and restarted, and I've tried waiting a long while to see if it resolves itself.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to above URL

Actual Results:
Browser becomes unresponsive until killed.

Expected Results:
Movie should begin playing.
Problem is not present on FF 3.6 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Nor is it present on FF 3.5.7 on Windows XP.
Title is invalid -- this behavior applies to MP4 files (probably all video formats) as well.
Summary: MOV file freezes browser → Movie files freeze browser
Can you please test in firefox safe mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Severity: critical → major
Keywords: hang
Version: unspecified → 1.9.1 Branch
Tested in safe mode -- no more freezing, but the video file still doesn't play.
On the direct link (movie.apple.com/...), I get a black window with nothing on it. Refreshing gives me the same window, with white text "Waiting for video" in the center of the screen, but nothing happens.

On the lightview page, clicking on the Avatar quicktime link opens the "player" up as it should, but where the player should be there is only white. Video never loads.
And now, MP4 file which crashed before is playing fine in the (non-safe-mode) browser; MOV file which crashed the browser (URL above) is now doing the same thing it did in safe mode -- the black window with the "Waiting for video" message. Not very helpful, I know.
can you still reproduce?
