The current popup menu that displays actions possible on an address could be improved a lot.  We should take a page from our current one-click address book popup and combine the functionality of the two systems and possibly having expansion areas for new functions.

A couple ideas/comments:

* Clicking on the mail address itself could bring up the composition window
* "Edit Contact..." already exists in the AB popup, so no worries about it leaving
* Copying the email address in the AB popup is painful (have to highlight the address and right-click copy, Ctrl+C doesn't seem to work(
* What to do about the similar popup for newsgroups?

Fwiw, I provided detailed suggestions how to improve this as early as 2008, including most of Jim's comment 1, and according to David Ascher's Bug 470659 Comment 1:
