User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.249.89 Safari/532.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 On Netbook, Asus Eee PC with Win XP, EXTREMELY ANNOYING behavior on small screen, have to re-zoom to see screens properly every time a new page is loaded. This problem essentially forces me to use Google Chrome, which does not exhibit this behavior. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.look at page, e.g. nytimes.com 2.set zoom by holding ctrl+ appropriate number of times to see 3.click on article to read Actual Results: page is displayed without benefit zoom setting in step 2 above, so have to re-apply zoom setting Expected Results: expect page settings to maintain zoom settings within a session.

Do you have firefox set to never remember history? Or custom settings that clear history on close, or have a history saved for 0 days?

Yes, but this behavior didn't start until the new version 3.6 was installed. (In reply to comment #1) > Do you have firefox set to never remember history? Or custom settings that > clear history on close, or have a history saved for 0 days?

I think the 3.5 behaviour was a bug. If you ask firefox not to remember things then it should do what you tell it.

(In reply to comment #3) > I think the 3.5 behaviour was a bug. If you ask firefox not to remember things > then it should do what you tell it. I agree with your general statement but have difficulty thinking of history as something that was done within the past minute or so - I believe the preferred user behavior is to maintain settings within the session, and treat intersession settings as the history not to remember.

So why not use custom settings to remember history but clear when firefox closes?

That would be unintuitive to me. This might be getting beyond the reported bug, but there are other new behaviors that I find objectionable in 3.6. The zooming used to work so that the content area was enlarged along with the font, but now the content area stays the same but the font zooms, makes it look very strange, not to mention the annoying advertisements stay visible much longer.
