Please append attached cgl.ucsf.edu xml file to
https://live.mozillamessaging.com/autoconfig/.

Note that the attache differs from the one that I submitted using the web interface. Most of our users are not kerberized, so the default should be plain authentication instead of secure.

Reproducible: Always

Any chance of this being put on the web site soon? I have a hundred users I want to migrate to our new email server and would rather have Thunderbird just get the settings right rather than have to wait for Thunderbird to set the settings half-right and then manually edit them.

And if not, what's the status of https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Autoconfiguration option 2.2? Is it supported and if so, is the DNS TXT record "mailconf=URL" (good) or just an URL (bad)?

Well, you normally need two reviews before a commit, but I've looked over the file, and it seems good to me, so I'll commit it in the near future.

It's partially implemented, but I don't think it will be in production soon.

On the plus side, a patch is in the upcoming 3.1 which will make Thunderbird check http://autoconfig.<domain>/mail/config-v1.xml?emailaddress=<emailaddress> and then http://<domain>/.well-known/autoconfig/mail/config-v1.xml?emailaddress=<emailaddress> and use the config returned from those.

Thanks,
Blake.
