User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; uk; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; uk; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Files downloaded by Firefox on my clean MS Win Srv 2003 (just installed all possible updates at 2nd of April 2010) are instantly removed. E.g. tried to download firefox installation itself and it was removed either, just right after download was completed. Tried different locations (desktop, C:\, my documents - all the same) and different downloads (Firefox itself, Adobe Reader 9.3).

Another funny thing around that: when I plress download link - "Downloads" window popups with new download but the download status there is set to "Cancelled" and no file stored. When i try to re-start the download - it restarts successfully and the file is being downloaded (I can read containment of the file in FAR file manager viewer while file is being downloaded). However - file is removed right when download completes.

In the same situation MS IE8 downloads same files to same folders without any issues.

PS.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install clean WinSrv2003 (I have all updates installed to it including optional, can not say if this is necessary to reproduce).
2. Install firefox (see exact build ID above)
3. Open http://www.mozilla-europe.org/uk/firefox/3.6.3/releasenotes/ and try download firefox installation.
4. The newly initiated download is state "Cancelled" - have to restart it then.
5. Once download is complete - file is removed, also e.g. "open folder where file is located" option in right-click menu on the download is not active.
Actual Results:
The newly initiated download is state "Cancelled" - have to restart it then. Once download is complete - file is removed, also e.g. "open folder where file is located" option in right-click menu on the download is not active.

Expected Results:
Newly initiated download is downloading normally without immediate cancellation. Once file has been downloaded - file is left in the target folder.

Nothing - just clean winsrv2003 + clean firefox. Ensured that my antivirus has nothing to this bug. Also MSIE8 works ok in the same situation.
Likely related to or a dupe of bug 504804.
