557999 - Cannot open links in Shredder

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100308 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6
Build Identifier: Ubuntu 10.04 beta 1

When I click on a link, I get a choose opening application window, though Firefox is not an option. When I click on "choose application" it opens something that resembles the open document window. I am not sure if this has something to do with Shredder, or what Shredder really is, but I was not having this issue before Shredder installed on my computer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive email with link in it.
2. Click link
3. Get "choose application" window
Actual Results:  
Must copy and paste the link into Firefox, instead of the link auto-opening

Expected Results:  
Auto-opened the link in Firefox

Shredder is still on my computer, possibly because I am in the beta of 10.04 that may be why I am not updated to Thunderbird 3 yet. I am not sure if this is a fault on you guys or on Cannonical but it seems that it takes forever for a Mozilla update to appear in Ubuntu, if ever. I still have not gotten the Firefox 3.6 through Ubuntu 9.10.

Version 3.0.5 pre
I am running in gnome, but other than that, I am not sure what you mean by desktop environment.

Can you run gconf and make sure that you have a default web browser set ?

How do I find gconf, I tried the terminal and searched around in Shredder, but I couldn't find anything like that, and terminal told me that it wasn't an acceptable command

Do you have thunderbird-gnome-support installed?

Tommy, can you follow the instructions mentioned in either of these articles to set Firefox as default browser of your system.
