The previous incarnation of bouncer would default the 'Check Now' flag to true when creating a new product, which is just what you want when adding a new download config. Tuxedo doesn't do this and that's caught us out a few times.
Forgetting to manually set the "Check Now" flag has tripped us up, right after we add a new product to bouncer in the closing hours of a release.
I fixed this in tuxedo trunk:

http://github.com/fwenzel/tuxedo/commit/5531172d5594d95af66be2565a22526d6e3e02c2

I'll get bugs filed to have staging and later prod updated.
... and merged downstream into the SVN mirror in r67501.

Confirmed that the Check Now box is ticked when loading the Add Product page (for manual addition, prod). Rail/Ben, could you verify that works when using the API ?

Over in bug 565309 entries were added with the API and _didn't_ get Check Now set to true. Do you want to reopen this or file a new bug ?
reopen.

This must have gotten resolved sometime. We haven't hit it in recent releases.
