Within the last week, there have been 2 bugs filed against sessionstore complaining about downloads autoresuming after a crash.

Bug 569545 - a large download caused Firefox to hang (probably actually just an overloaded memory/cpu issue), but it couldn't be paused because the download resumed after killing Firefox.

Bug 570972 - resuming downloads that are behind a login is apparently causing issues after resuming from crash
I am the creator of bug 570972. This would definately solve my kind of problem.
