When attempting to add a role to a user through the profile page, selecting an elevated role and clicking "+ Add role" does not seem to have any effect. (using Fx 3.6.3)
r68804 should fix.

I simplified the UI a bit, now just using a set of checkboxes for additional roles available for profiles.
