User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 When saving some type of pages, Firefox will pop dozens of alerts whose captions are "Download Error" and contents are "C:\...\example_files\*****.jpg", where "C:\...\example.html" is the page to be saved and "*****.jpg" is the name of image that causes error. If there are too much image error, these pop-up alerts are really annoying and take much time to clear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open this page: http://www.tianya.cn/publicforum/content/filmtv/1/13009.shtml *Warning* this page is very big (approx 4.21M) and may take several minutes to load. 2.File - Save Page As - Save Actual Results: Dozens of "Download Error" alerts keep popping up. Expected Results: Pop up one dialogue box which contains all error messages.

I'm having this issue and I believe I found out why I think the file name paths being created are too long. So firefox spits out a bunch of errors for every single file. This needs to be fixed and is hell of a lot annoying. Confirmed.

(In reply to kittyinapc from comment #1) > I'm having this issue and I believe I found out why I think the file name > paths being created are too long. So firefox spits out a bunch of errors for > every single file. I think I just had the same problem on a webpage (http://www.nw-news.de/), but there is no text in the error boxes.

I could not reproduce the problem with the empty error messages, so here is an updated screenshot.

The website from the description, http://www.tianya.cn/publicforum/content/filmtv/1/13009.shtml, isn't available anymore. It redirects me to: http://bbs.tianya.cn/post-filmtv-13009-1.shtml. Saving this webpage worked as expected, with Firefox 18.0.1 (build ID: 20130116073211) and on the latest Nightly also (build ID: 20130128030943). With http://www.nw-news.de/news/nachrichten/7772670_Konflikte_Syrien.html, the saving worked smoothly, both on Firefox 18.0.1 and latest Nightly. With http://www.nw-news.de/, I did see the problem with the empty error messages that kept on appearing on the screen, even though I kept on closing them, both on Firefox 18.0.1 and the latest Nightly. (eventually the messages stopped appearing, and in the library window the download was listed as failed)

I get the same behavior as detailed in comment 4, with Firefox 19 beta 3. (build ID: 20130123083802)
