Seems like it doesn't work with part of the previously selected text but it does with whole previous selection

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to docs.google.com and open some existing text document (or use attached TC)
2. Select part of the text and change the highlight color
3. Select part of the previous selection and increase the font size

Actual Results:
Highlight color doesn't match to the new font size(screenshot). Whats interesing it works if you change the font size for whole previously selected text.

Expected Results:
Highlight should match the new font size.

Firstly, this is not related to the editor at all. It's just how the markup gets rendered. Secondly, I'm not sure if this is really a bug. Webkit and opera render this exactly the same way. Anyway, moving to layout with a testcase.
