I find myself typing mimetype='application/x-json' a lot, and I am a teribble speller.
Not related to KB => out of 2.3.
Target Milestone: 2.3 → ---
We should probably use JsonResponse instead once we get to django 1.7 and python 2.7 and we find the cure cancer:

I don't think we really need a bug for this. Lets just write better code in the future.
