User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.7) Gecko/20100701 Firefox/3.6.7 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.7) Gecko/20100701 Firefox/3.6.7 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C) Since I loaded the last 2 versions of Firefox search from Google results in normal page. However, changing criteria and hitting "Enter" or clicking "Search" does not result in activating search. This happens on two seperate computers, one at work, and home. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Navigate to www.google.com 2.run search 3.change search criteria 4.search does not process Actual Results: nothing. No further search results were displayed. The page stayed the same even when different criteria was entered. Expected Results: New search results. Should have displayed new results based on new criteria. Occurs only in Firefox. ie7 continues to work.
Confirmed on Firefox 3.6.6 for Windows 7 32-bit. I have tried several troubleshooting solutions provided by Firefox users. You can find mine and others postings at the following links: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1938125&sid=a12f7fa0905dfc35775073c3e1367fff https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392705
Confirmed on OSX 10.6.4 and FF 3.6.6 I have found this. If I start from the searchbar all works fine. I can perform multiple searches after that using the google search input field. If I start from www.google.com, the second search with a different search term does not work. In addition when I attempt the second search there is no HTTP transmission. I verified this using my firewall logger. I tried clearing the cache and that did nothing. I cleared all cookies and that did nothing.
"I can perform multiple searches after that using the google search input field." To clarify, I mean on the www.google.com page that returns the first result from the searchbar.
Hach from Google is aware of the issue and has filed the bug report. The issue will be looked into eventually. Source link: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Web+Search/thread?tid=5b21efd3b15e5c7d&hl=en
