This seems spurious and misleading. I would expect that when the mouse is within the list of folders (all of which are valid drop targets) that particular pointer should never be shown. Reproducible: Always

this is happening in safe mode too. I am now using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.7) Gecko/20100713 Thunderbird/3.1.1

I can confirm this on my system. It flickers quite a lot when doing drag and dropping. Not sure what the best way to fix this is, but making the drop targets bigger would be nice.

This also happens on Linux even though the cursors are similar enough that it's not as distracting as on Windows (haven't checked Mac yet, but I suspect it does something similar there). Setting Platform to All.
