I've been noticing this bug in my Win32 Netscape_20000922_BRANCH builds for some
time now, but just figured out how to reproduce this reliably.

This is probably a tree bug, but we'll start with mail just in case they
programatically manipulate the tree selection. Cc hyatt.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Bring up the mail window.
2. Click on a message in the subject pane that isn't the last one in the list.
3. After that message loads in the message pane below, click in the message pane
to give it focus. You should see that the selection in the subject pane turns gray.
4. Now click in a different window to give it focus.
5. Now click back in the message pane, or in the mail window's title bar to give
the window focus again. Note that the current selection in the Subject pane
should still be gray.
6. Now go up the subject pane, hold down the shift key and click on another
message that is below the currently selected message.

This should have caused the message you just clicked on and everything between
it and the initialy selected message to become selected, but you will notice
that the entire selection disappeared.
Ok, duh ... I can repro this bug by just:

1. Selecting a message in the subject pane.
2. Clicking in the message pane to give it focus.
3. Then shift clicking, as described above, in the subject pane.

There is no need for the mail window to lose focus, to see this bug.

I tried the new steps (I went crazy with selection-ness) and didn't see what Kin
saw, probably this went away with the outliner branch.
