User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8
Build Identifier:

I am using a socks server, that is noting my client requesting information from the mozilla news group server, but it is not responding:

Jul 29 17:46:58 (1280450818) sockd[3602]: pass(2): tcp/connect ]: 192.168.3.12.49862 -> 216.196.97.169.563: Connection timed out

I'm able to ping the machine and get under 1 second responses, so I don't think that's the problem.

Ever since trying to upgrade to TB3, I've had a bunch of problems with things that used to work in TB2, that are now broken or missing in TB3.

So I thought I thought I would try to ask about configuration, first, before reporting them as bugs...but if I can't get to the newsgroups anymore, that makes that difficult...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. tried to access new://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.support.thunderbird
2.
3.
Actual Results:
timeout

Expected Results:
getting the newgroup
I don't recall seeing this before, so I suspect this is a support question
