you will find the text for the iPhone App Store description for Firefox Home.  Please translate this file and attach it to this bug as a text file.  You can attach that file as a plain text document.

The description will eventually be uploaded to a site like this:

You can see from the file that it references some U.S. based articles that gave positive reviews of Firefox Home.  Feel free to quote a local news source, if you saw a positive article.  Before you do that, please ping us with the quote in this bug so we can confirm it with you.  If you don't have any local news articles to quote, either translate the ones in this article or you can ask us to research for you.  We may be able to reach out to a PR agency to help.

Because it is Apple, we do not have a staging server where we can test this.  And, we cannot easily provide any localized screen shots.

Some notes:

1) As lines 5-8 exceeded the allowed size, I added an extra line there. Could we simply do so, or is there a number of fixed lines (I guess not)? If there is a simple action for you to take in order to get this right, please do so or let us know otherwise.

2) I’ll take it the quotation marks in (our) lines 5, 9, 13 and 15 don’t need to be kept as they are in en-US (thus ‘straight’, as if they act like ‘container marks’). We use curly ones for all *visible* quotation marks, which I believe is true here, hence the curlies.

3) The article at http://nyti.ms/duMTDu seems to no longer carry the quoted phrase. Not sure if that’s important? Both quotations have been translated from en-US btw, as local ones are hard to find for one thing, but IMO this isn’t really important.

4) Important: the http://bit.ly/fxhomesync as well as the http://bit.ly/fxhomehelp link point to en-US SUMO articles, as they contain ‘/en-US/’. Could these become links without /en-US/, so that they automatically point to the localized versions of these pages? If so, could you fix it for all locales, if needed?

5) Could you ask Apple to
- change ‘Mozilla website’ to ‘Mozilla-website’ for nl
- change ‘Firefox Home Ondersteuning’ to ‘Firefox Home-ondersteuning’ (either that, or ‘Ondersteuning voor Firefox Home’
- change the redirection URL for ‘Firefox Home-ondersteuning’ to something like http://support.mozilla.com/1/firefox-home/1.0/iPhone/nl/ (hence, no ‘en-US’ or other locale ID) to make it redirect to the localized SUMO page version as well? (like in note 4, and for all locales)

The Marketing team updated the copy of the App Store Description to reflect what is new in this release.  You can see the differences here:

Please make the necessary translation updates to your file, reattach to this bug, and close when it is fixed.  

We are submitting the app for review tomorrow, August 24, 2010.  Last time, for a minor update to Firefox Home, it took Apple ~7 days to approve and release the app after we submitted.  We would like to have this copy translated as soon as possible so we have it ready for the forthcoming release.  If you're looking for a guess on timing, I would say it is 5 minutes of effort and we'd love to have it now.

For Firefox Home 1.0.3, we will need to update the strings in the Apple App Store.  For this release, and to be used for releases in the future, we will need the following translated:

"bug fixes"

Please provide a translation in the next comment of this bug and the dev team will gather it from here.
