Details

I have Mozilla setup to automatically fire a mail window as well as a browser
window on start-up. It's also setup with encryption of my password file. This is
where the problem comes in. My IMAP password is stored encrypted, so as soon as
the program starts it freezes until it gets around to popping up the dialog
asking for my main password. This is about 10-15 seconds when "the lights are on
but no one is home" which is pretty annoying, especially at the begining of a
session.

Using linux build 2000110608
Confirming. Mozilla isn't exactly freezing, it's just loading psm, and it does
take 10-15 seconds. The purpose of loading psm separately was to reduce the
startup time of Mozilla, and many users may go through a browsing session
without ever needing to load psm. Changing summary from "Browser/mail freezes
when asking for initial password"
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Browser/mail freezes when asking for initial password → Linux-Loading psm takes too long.
If while PSM loaded the browser component was still active, it would be a big help.
