This bug is to create a new version of the Mobile Download page that matches the look & feel of the overall redesign project. The general starting point should be the files here: mozilla.seanmartell.com/engagement/mocodotcom/mocodotcom-PSDs.zip. General functionality, layout and copy stays the same from what's on the current staged page. Here's a rough schedule...the most important date is the final handoff, of course: CR1 designs: Friday, 10/1 CR1 feedback: Monday, 10/4 CR2 designs: Friday, 10/8 Final approval: Monday, 10/11 Handoff to WebDev: Wednesday, 10/13 Thanks!
Hello, Here's a mockup for the Mobile Download page: http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/mobile_download_01.jpg
Can we use a different image instead of the firefox logo for the "Download to your desktop" section, given that is going to be targeted to a limited set it seems a bit confusing.

Looks good Lee! From a optimization perspective, one suggestion I have is making the download buttons "pop" more than they do now. Maybe make them another color, or make the "Android" and "Nokia N900" blue copy a different color since I think right now the colors sort of merge into one another making the download buttons a little less noticeable than they could be.

re: buttons Perhaps try using the green style from the top right download button. Not sure if we want to confuse/draw attention from that, but it would be interesting to see what it'd look like.

This looks really good to me! (In reply to comment #2) > Can we use a different image instead of the firefox logo for the "Download to > your desktop" section, given that is going to be targeted to a limited set it > seems a bit confusing. Any thoughts on what that could be? The logo is a pretty powerful symbol for Firefox, after all. Maybe something like a downward arrow symbolizing the download itself? (In reply to comment #4) > re: buttons > > Perhaps try using the green style from the top right download button. Not sure > if we want to confuse/draw attention from that, but it would be interesting to > see what it'd look like. Agreed. That seems like a good approach to me. Also, now would be a good time to ask the question if we want that green download button in the upper right of the mobile pages...I would say probably not, as it's confusing to be promoting desktop downloads in the mobile section. Another option for the other mobile pages would be to have a similar (but perhaps a little different) button in the upper right for mobile downloads (that would link you back to this page). It wouldn't be on this page, of course, but would be nice to have for the other ones. For this page, we can probably do without it, though. Laura, thanks for the input on the buttons as well.

For an image, a desktop image with a down arrow (similar to the phone image with the down arrow that Lee created) may be the most clear.
nice - I must've read all of your minds bc, i made the all the same changes before i read the last few comments! see the updated mockup: http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/mobile_download_01.jpg thanks for the input, er'body L

nice! Another option could be using two of the glyphs used within Fennec: http://grab.by/6ERC (could be bigger than that, just a quick hack) I have all the glyphs (still making them!) and I could make larger ones if you want to use them anywhere.

If we're using those new glyphs in other areas, sure - I think it would be great to use them here too. Let me know when those would be ready to use, and I'll replace mine. Thanks, Sean!

updated mockup: http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/JPG/mobile_download_01.jpg did you intend for those glyphs to appear in black at all times?

nope. they're actually white in the UI, so you can use them however you'd like!

I really like this...am very excited about this page (and the other new mobile ones), actually. Caitlin, what say you?

love it, looks great

One thing I would recommend is changing the glyph color. In the new style, blue is kinda reserved for anything that is a link. Unless the glyph is clickable?

I think it looks really great. Can't wait!

Looks good to me. Unless there are any further comments, I think we can wrap this one up and pass over to WebDev. Thanks all-

Lee, we can PSD this one whenever you're ready. We can add in the illustration once it's finished (which won't be for another couple of weeks, most likely).
