User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; ru; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; ru; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 When history is opened in the sidebar and view is set to "By Date and Site" and you delete "folder" of some site, all history of that site will be lost (similar to "Forget This Site" option). It will also disappear from the dropdown menu of the location bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit a site. 2. On the next day visit that site once again. 3. Open history in the sidebar, set view to "By Date and Site" and delete site's "folder" for this or previous day. Actual Results: All site's history is lost. Expected Results: I think Firefox should delete history only for that day. For examle, yesterday i visited example.com/1.html and today - example.com/2.html and example.com/3.html. I delete today's example.com folder; example.com/1.html should remain. IE-8 behaves in a such way.

To put it in other Words: You want the Deletion of History to happen by the set View Condition, e.g. "Date per Site" in your Example.

removing a page from history removes the page from history, that does not depend on the day. what's the use case to remove the page only from one day. Removing history is done for privacy, thus if we'd not do that you'd have to remove it from each day container to get rid of it from your history, that would be a nightmare.
(In reply to comment #2) > Removing history is done for privacy, thus if we'd not do that you'd have to > remove it from each day container to get rid of it from your history, that > would be a nightmare. I suggest sorting "By Site", so either a certain page or a whole folder can be deleted easily. Or even using a "Forget This Site" option. During the experiments with different history views I found another specific behaviour. When view is set to "By Date" and you click some link in a "Yesterday" folder, that link disappear from that place (and appear in "Today" folder). So, Firefox stores history in its own way (more bookmark-like than journal-like) and my proposal may require much more changes for a whole history system than it seemed at first glance. However I still think that suggested way of history behaviour (IE-like) is more logical and transparent.
