User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

After downloading the most recent version, I noticed if have firefox open all day, by the end of the day (or faster if I'm using the computer alot that day), the response time of my computer, usually noticeable most in gmail, is UBER-slow. We're talking -- I'll type in a sentence, get up from my chair, go heat my tea up and maybe the computer has caught up with what I've typed. If I close firefox, restart, and get back into firefox, the issue is gone -- at least for another couple of hours.

I don't have the problem with internet explorer (But I don't LIKE IE, I like Firefox!)

I have an HP Pavillion dv2000 (64-bit).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sign on to firefox after restarting
2. use firefox (usually with gmail open in one of the tabs)
3. by the end of the day I'm crawling in email, and movement on websites is hindered.

Expected Results:
let me move the mouse, click, type and respond immediately!!!
Does a new profile help? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles

robust, are you still seeing this problem with a current version?
Whiteboard: [closeme 2011-12-28]
sorry -- new profile didn't help, couldn't wait for a fix, so I just haven't been using Firefox/Mozilla -- switched to Google Chrome.

Wouldn't mind an alternative to Chrome though -- been working on the problem?
Other's noticing it? When I switched to Chrome, it all went away.
OK, the HP Pavillion dv2000 is a notebook.
what speed hard disk?
and what antivirus software is running?

suggest you try version 9 (comes out shortly) started in safe mode
