Just close tab when you are moving it to another pleace.

Look, when you are dragging tab to another place type CTRL + W and drop the tab. Everything you have to do in tabs bar.

Yes, all releases include this bug - only Linux versions.
Using CTRL+W, while changing the position of a tab - closes the focused tab, in our case, the tab that is being moved.

Can you be more specific in explaining what exactly is the problem you are encountering?
