I upgraded Firefox Home on the iPhone to 1.4 earlier today and gave it a spin. It started up fine and then popped up a message about an Incorrect Sync Key and asked me to Cancel or Sign In. Assuming this was a password related issue, I signed in. 

At this point, I was able to see my tabs (including some that were very recently opened on my browser on the laptop). When I hit bookmarks, the same error popped up. I hit cancel and my bookmarks came up fine. 

Then I hit Settings -> Refresh and while syncing history, I'm able to consistently reproduce the error message. Restarting the app doesn't change this.

I looked over all of the server logs.  There isn't anything immediately obvious as a direct cause.  I'm bumping this over to Stefan for further review.  Logs are attached in case that helps any.  They are all 200 OK with the exception of a pair of 404 from when he installed Home 1.0.4 for the first time.

Oh and hitting Sign In obviously makes me sign in all over again.

The Firefox Home project has been retired, and Mozilla will no longer invest in future work on this project [1]. All bugs related to Firefox Home are being mass resolved.

For those interested in continuing work on this app, the source code for Firefox Home is available on Github [2].
