This is for archiving the Firefox Flicks (operationfirefox.com) website.

That's what I get for copy-and-pasting. Of course, I mean firefoxflicks.com.
Do we know who the site owner is? Is this a Mozilla-owned site or is it run by a Mozilla community member?

My vote would be to retire firefoxflicks.com with a blog post, rather than archiving.
This site looks like it has not been touched since late 2006.

Do we know where the code repository is for this site?

Also of note, the blog is available here:

I recently talked to the engagement team about this and they asked us to hold off on archiving or retiring it while they could think through plans for potentially updating it.

cc'ing John in case he has any additional information. Unless he says otherwise I think we should leave it as is for now. Maybe add it to the 2011 discussion section on the wiki?

I don't have any additional info beyond what David said in comment #4, but I also think it'd be a good idea to leave this one live for the time being.
This site will need to be touched no matter what. It does not contain the privacy policy link. It also allows users to submit personal data over an insecure connection via http://www.firefoxflicks.com/submit/submit.php

Fred, is this site on the Q4 Privacy checklist?
Thanks for paying attention, Ryan. I will file privacy policy bugs for all the wontfixed to-be-archived sites for the site owners to resolve.

By the way, taking the site offline would not preempt us from launching a "version 2" there sometime. All the code is in SVN when needed, and retiring the website does not include giving up ownership of the domain name.

In fact, one could argue that freeing the resources would make it *easier* to launch something else there sometime in the future.

Anyway, Ryan added the site to the "to be revisited in 2011" checklist.
