624131 - add a shortener to the message textbox handler

In quite a few cases I paste the URL into the message. Of course if it is something like http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Lost Bookmarks, I'd like to shorten it to use the 140 chars for something else. 

So ... maybe hang a shortener on the rightclick dropdown menu to shorten - either anything that's in the textbox or the selection)

Seems like the addon James mentioned will do just what you want. If this is something a lot of users would benefit from, we can look into it, but it doesn't feel like a high priority right now.

I have my own shortener and its still a bother. For instance, sometimes it just doesnt for whatever reason and then it is a long road to tinyurl and back.

But Ill scale it down/out. you have more impio
