Hi Creative,

We need some help for the February newsletter that we’re sending on Feb. 9.  The theme of the newsletter is Share the Love.  I did some poking around the site and found a few images that are relevant.  Most need a few edits.  Also, if you have images in your back pocket that are better, please let me know.  

SECTION 1 – Editor’s Note

Edits to image:  Can we place a heart between the salt / pepper shakers – or some other way to tie them to Valentine’s Day?  If you can think of something else on the site that relates better to our theme, please feel free to substitute.  

SIZE:  Roughly 200 pixels wide

SECTION 2 – Lead Story 
 
Didn’t find a lot on our site.  What about using the white monster guy - http://mozcom-cdn.mozilla.net/img/template/footer-social.png that’s in the footer?   Could we put something in his hands that represents sharing/giving?  Keep in mind that the background will be white.  

SIZE:  No wider than 150 pixels

SECTION 3 – Firefox Tales

Voice over competition. The logo on this page would fit nicely if we could reduce the size and crop out the background - http://firefoxlive.mozilla.org/wp-content/themes/firefoxbeta/assets/images/firefox_logo.jpg" 

SIZE:  No wider than 125 pixels

SIDEBAR:

Get a Dino Toy! 
Image – can we shrink this down so that it will fit in our side bar?  We can get rid of the shirt and just highlight the dino toy - https://donate.mozilla.org/page/-/tshirt_web_promo_donate_09.png

NOTE:  If we redesign before February, we won’t need to build in the curves for the sidebar images.  If we don’t have a new template, whatever image we place here will need to line up with the HTML so that our curved box looks complete.

I found a designer who can help us knock this out by end of week.  

Winston, could you clarify your last note about the "curves" in the sidebar?  I'm not sure if I understand.
Otherwise, could you please attach a screenshot of the email template so that the designer could use that for mockup purposes?  Not critical, but a nice to have.

I'll send the graphic assets to the designer today and he'll get started asap.

Sure! 

I attached an image of the curved sidebar and a screen shot of the newsletter.  When the image is sliced, it needs to include the top portion of the sidebar.  That might be more important for the HTML bug.  See attached and let me know if it makes sense now.

Can I add one more piece to this bug? I hope it's a small edit.  We'd like to edit the signature line to reflect both Jane and myself.  We signed and scanned a piece of paper.  Could you resize, convert to a web friendly image, and make the signatures a little stronger?  They look weak on the PDF.  The one that's currently in the template (also attached for reference) looks like it might have had a touch of Photoshop work.
