Hi,
command line option names for "-compose" should match any available fields in the composition window. I.e., if the drop down menu in the compose window shows

  foo:
  bar:

then the command line should allow to say:

  -compose "foo=blah,bar=quux"

This relates to bug #627999.

Cheers,

  ^m

Reproducible: Always
Confirming per bug 627999 comment #8 and bug 627999 comment #10. The syntax for the "-compose" command line option is rather confusing and not intuitive, and the option names don't match what the user sees in the composition window.
This is blocking bug 630802 as an update of the option names in the "-compose" argument would obviously have an impact on the command-line help text.

Oops, I had the dependencies upside-down, sorry for the noise...

Of specific interest would be the identity selection with a "from=" option, the "preselectid=" which currently exists is rather painful to use as it requires to determine the actual id# key (which may change among installations).

The "newsgroups=" option has "Newsgroup" (no trailing 's') in the drop-down menu, "Reply-to" and "Followup-to" don't have corresponding command-line options at all.
