It would appear that the former FCKEDITOR is now CKEDITOR. It would appear that the version University of Phoenix is using is an older version. The product has been rebranded and there is a new website. http://ckeditor.com/ I'm not sure how to get you to a working page since it is a secure site. The previously provided link to classroom.phoenix.edu will get you to the open shared code.

You can access the demo at http://ckeditor.com/demo . Does it still reproduce here?

Hi, Alex! I've tested with the latest version of CKEDITOR on the demo site and it works fine. I have given University of Phoenix a heads-up that this is going to be a problem for them and asked them what their plans are to update the component to ensure that students using Firefox can upgrade to v4. I'm not hopeful. You know that educational institutions never have money for that sort of thing. No doubt there are a lot of sites out there using the RTEDITOR component that are going to break. It would be great if the developers could figure out why it is breaking. Regards, Rob

I dug a little deeper and examined the error console. I did find an error on the Javascript call for RTEDITOR. The error showed rteditor as not defined and gave a more detailed error as follows: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIWebNavigation.loadURI]" nsresult: "0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/viewSource.js :: viewSource :: line 179" data: no] I will pass this along to the UOP web staff. Don't know why this error does not occur in Firefox 3.x.
