However, once I click on the OK button, I'm taken to the "Message filters" dialog window, but the filter I just now set up is not listed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click sender's email address and select "create filter from..." 2. Adjust filter settings and click ok 3. See that filter has not been added to message filters list Actual Results: No message filter was added to the list Expected Results: New filter to be added to the list of message filters

Does this also happens in -safe-mode ? Can you update to 3.1.x as 3.0.x is currently unsupported.

Maybe I should file a bug with their bugtracker then? Not really - I was asking just to make sure that it wasn't fixed in recent builds.

because as described it's effectively dataloass. however, a) perhaps creating a filter via the standard UI works for the user. but the question wasn't asked, so we don't know that b) perhaps the filter really was added, but just wasn't displayed after "OK" was clicked - irrc there was such a bug, which iirc is now gone. again, we don't know that from the reporter. so perhaps the severity and keyword aren't accurate. We'd only know with more feedback from the reporter
Sorry, the reporter was busy these last weeks and his distribution of choice is still suggesting Thunderbird 3.* in their stable repository. The conditions I tested in now are completely different, so I do not know whether they apply: Windows XP SP3 Thunderbird 7.0.1 I can confirm that "create filter from ..." works under these conditions. The rule is created and added to the list of rules. I will try to find yet another setup, preferably a Unix machine.
