Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.15

Just installed Firefox 4 RC (i.e. Minefield) and it has imported all my bookmarks automatically.
After visiting google.co.uk and news.bbc.co.uk, I can open the bookmark menu, but any attempt to move the mouse down to select a bookmark causes the bookmark menu to close itself.
This is happening randomly, but once it starts closing the bookmark menu, it will always keep doing this until Firefox 4 RC is closed and restarted.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Firefox 4 RC.
2. Browse a couple of web sites.
3. Attempt to select an existing bookmark from the bookmark menu.
Actual Results:
This problem only happens sometimes, and I am yet to find a sequence of steps that will cause it to happen every time, but it does happen within a few minutes of using Firefox 4 RC on Ubuntu.

Expected Results:
I have Firefox 3.6 installed and bookmarks always display and can be selected from the bookmark menu, expect Firefox 4 RC to do the same.
Any add-on that interacts with menus?
This is a freshly installed Firefox 4 RC without any add-ons.

maybe you have a focus-follows-mouse or similar setting/tweak, usually those cause issues with menus
I have not tweaked my OS since it was installed, purely installed Firefox and used it as is out of the box.
I see the same problem after upgrading from 3.5.9 to 6 on Opensolaris.
Bookmarks suddenly do either not open at all or close immediately when
trying to select. This is a serious regression, as it happens quite often,
and can only be reset by restarting firefox.
Reporters -> Can you still reproduce in Firefox 9.0.1? Any luck with better steps to reproduce (STR)?
Closing bug as Incomplete - if you are still experiencing this issue or have more information to provide feel free to post back here and we can re-open the bug. You can also get assistance by visiting the Firefox help site -> https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ask

Please reopen: This still happens on Firefox 12, after a while browsing, or even after
a while doing nothing, no specific steps to reproduce, it just happens in about 60 % of
all runs. Platform here is Opensolaris 134b, Gnome 2.28.2, Gtk 1.2.10. This is a really
annoying bug with high impact, as you have to restart firefox.

The same happens also with thunderbird 12, same config as in comment #8 .

thunderbird doesn't have a bookmarks menu, afaict.
This bug applies to ALL menus, not only the bookmark entries of firefox.
